Privacy Policy
Lapland Planning Co. Last updated: 1.9.2026
Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have over it. We've kept it as plain and honest as we can.
This policy applies to our website, our free resources (such as the Lapland Starter Kit), and our digital guide purchases. If you have any questions, just email us at info@laplandplanningco.com.
1. Who is responsible for your data
Lapland Planning Co. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

Business name: Lapland Planning Co
Address: Ahjokatu 14-16, 40320 Jyväskylä, Finland
Contact: info@laplandplanningco.com

We are based in Finland and handle personal data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Finnish data protection law.
2. What data we collect
We only collect what we need to run our business and serve you well.
When you join our email list (e.g. for the free Starter Kit):
Your email address
Your first name (if you provide it)
Basic activity data — such as whether you opened an email or clicked a link — so we can send relevant, useful content
When you buy a guide:
Your name and email address
Your order details (which product, date, amount)
Payment confirmation from our payment provider
Important: we do not see or store your full card or bank details.
Payments are handled directly by Stripe (see section 5).
When you use our website:
Basic technical and usage data (such as pages viewed and general location by country), collected through our website/landing-page provider and any cookies you accept.
We do not knowingly collect data from children.
3. Why we use your data, and our legal basis
We use your data to:
Deliver what you asked for — send your free resource, deliver your purchased guides, and provide order confirmations and support. (Legal basis: performance of a contract / taking steps at your request.)
Send you helpful emails — planning tips, guide updates, and occasional offers. (Legal basis: your consent when you sign up, or our legitimate interest in emailing existing customers about similar products. You can unsubscribe at any time.)
Run and improve our business — understand what content is useful, keep our site working, and prevent fraud. (Legal basis: our legitimate interests.)
Meet legal obligations — such as keeping records required for tax and accounting. (Legal basis: legal obligation.)
4. Email marketing and your consent
If you sign up for a free resource or buy from us, we'll add you to our email list and may send you relevant, useful emails.
Every email includes an unsubscribe link — one click and you're out, no questions asked.
You can also update your preferences at any time using the link in our emails, or by emailing us.
We will never sell your email address or share it for other companies' marketing.
5. Who we share your data with
We only share data with trusted providers who help us run the business, and only so they can do their job for us. Our main providers are:
MailerLite — our email marketing, landing page, and digital-product platform. Stores your email details and delivers our emails and products.
Stripe — our payment processor. Handles your payment securely; we receive only confirmation of the transaction, never your full card details.
These providers process data on our behalf under data protection agreements. Some may process data outside the EU/EEA; where they do, they use safeguards (such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses) required by law.
We may also disclose data if required by law, or to protect our legal rights.
6. Cookies
Our website and landing pages use cookies and similar technologies to make the site work and to understand how it's used. Essential cookies are needed for the site to function. Any non-essential cookies (such as analytics) are used only where allowed, and where a cookie banner is shown, based on your choice. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
7. How long we keep your data
Email subscribers: we keep your data while you're subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we remove or suppress your details, keeping only what's needed to honour your unsubscribe.
Customers: we keep order and transaction records for as long as required by tax and accounting law (typically several years in Finland), then delete or anonymise them.
8. Your rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct data that's wrong or incomplete
Delete your data ("right to be forgotten"), where applicable
Restrict or object to certain processing
Withdraw consent at any time (this won't affect processing already done)
Data portability — receive your data in a portable format
Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
To exercise any of these, just email info@laplandplanningco.com and we'll help.
In Finland, the supervisory authority is the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi).
9. How we protect your data
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep your data safe, and we work only with reputable providers (like MailerLite and Stripe) who maintain strong security standards. No system is ever 100% secure, but we treat your data with care and limit access to what's necessary.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The version in force is the one published on this page, with the "last updated" date above. If we make significant changes, we'll do our best to let subscribers know.
